Week Seven

Week 7: (2/11/15)

In order to create an animation, I will have to create a plan. This plan includes a basic step-by-step method for the way the product will be tested or processed. The tasks will include the way I will be designing, creating and testing the animation which leads to a final design of the animation where I will then implement the product.

This is an example of a task, as you can see I have included resources in order to complete the task such as the Internet. I have included a risk, the solution and how long it may take to recover from the risk. It is important to think about this before-hand as I never know what to expect, in this way I can take precaution.

Solutions
1
Design

1.1
Sketching images
-Paper
-Pencil
-Rubber
-Internet
-School computer
-Home
computer

I may not be able to access the school computers on a specific day or perhaps there won’t be any access to the internet due to slow Wi-Fi-connectivity. Due to this, I won’t be able to look at certain examples of design for images.

I may also find some examples of design in art books, where I could then sketch the image. Or I could simply access a computer in a library outside of school.
1.2
Storyboard for animation
-Paper
-Pencil
-Rubber
-Internet
-School computer
-Home
computer

I may not have the sufficient paper in order to draw a storyboard. This may vary from using a plain A3 or A4.
I may want to access the internet to research different ways in drawing a storyboard.

5
I will be able to have sufficient paper at school, as I could borrow some paper from the art department.
There are different ways to look at ways to draw a storyboard, from comic books or looking at templates.
2
Prototyping
(Creating)

2.1
Creating images
Photoshop
-Fireworks
-School computer
-Library computer
(outside of school)
-Internet

I need to be able to access software. This is where I will need specialised skills in order to create images. This is why I will need the help of my personnel: Ms. Duarte and Mr.Mavinga.
However there may be certain days where they may not be available.
Medium- High
7
If I won’t be able to consult my personnel, I may also look at tutorials on YouTube, where it carefully explains the basis of the software as well as a step-by-step in how to create a specific design. However, there is a risk that there may be a lack of Wi-Fi connectivity. In this case I may have to access a library outside of school.
2.2
Create animation
-Flash
-School computer
-Library computer
(outside of school)
-Internet

This may also be the same problem where I may not be able to access a computer in school. Therefore I will have to access a library outside of school after 15:25; therefore there may be a chance that the library may be closed or specifically be closed for important reasons.
Medium –(chance of it being High)
14-18
In this case I will have to consult the library before-hand in order to know when the library closes.
If it is the case where the library may all of a sudden close then there may not be any possible solution but to wait for the next school day.
2.3
Testing images and animation
-Feedback from client/staff/students
-School computer
I believe there is no risk in this section, as I could consult a general group of people to look at my animation and give feedback with the appearance and with the use of images and videos. However, Mr. Thompson will also be important to have feedback from as we are creating the animation for him and he will also base his feedback on whether the rules  will impact the students

Final product

3.1
Summative testing of final product
This depends on what I may need to improve. However it is essential to access a:
-School computer
-Library computer
(outside of school)
-Internet

In this case I will need all the resources in order to act on the feedback. The feedback can vary from making the images or videos clear to what the characters say in the animation.
Risks that I have already mentioned also apply here. I may also need to re-do the storyboard as it will need to match the scenes from the animation.
Low-Medium-High
3
In the case of re-doing the storyboard I may need more paper. Therefore, I could access it from school or buy paper from a shop.
3.2
Handover product to client
-School computer
-Internet

There may be a delay on the day that I will need to hand-in my animation, therefore I may not be in school.
Low
1-2
In this case I could send my animation by emailing Mr. Thompson.
